Getting out to get on – Career opportunities outside the public sector in Wales

Economic commentators and analysts forecast as many as 18,000 public sector job losses in Wales as a result of the Coalition’s public sector cuts programme. Many UK civil servants based in Wales have been invited to consider taking voluntary redundancy, and many more will be invited to do so as reorganisation plans begin to materialise. Compulsory redundancies, whilst undesirable, cannot be ruled out.
